Brain

There are three parts to our brains, the inner reptilian core, the middle paleomammalian brain, and the outer neomammalian cortex.

The inner reptilian core is where our hightened senses are. It controls instinctive and autonomic responses and is generally where our unconsious "id" is located which is aware of all things around us. It seems to me that this is Chai.

The paleomammalian brain is what allows most people to develop emotional bonds, feel cosy, and generally gather together. It is the reason people like to gather in pubs and is what distinguished warm-blooded animals from cold-blooded reptilians reliant upon instinct. Herd mentality is in the paleomammalian brain. I think this is where the nephesh is located.

The outer neomamallian cortex is responsible for rational thinking. Scientific method is a product of the neomammalian cortex. This is the best place it seems to me for the location of Neshamah.

If I am to believe what I have been told, I have a genetic condition which has allowed my neomammalian rational brain to develop more than most people but apparently at the expense of development in my paleomammalian brain. The effect is that my reptilian core has not been numbed by development in the paleomammalian brain, but at the same time a lot of of what is considered second nature is processed in the paleomammalian brain which is apparently what i am lacking in. My brain is more like what a reptilian brain with rational thought would be like. I have developed a strange theological interpretation of what has happened in my development. I think I sacrificed my paleamamalian ruminant mentality in order to be a better person, but the result is a new kind of human more like a rational reptile than a rational mamal. An irrational reptile is a creature of instinct, pure "id". It is interesting that this kind of beastly spirit was represented in the spiritual writings of 1st century palestine as a Fungus the bogeyman type frog.

Phalangers are interesting among mammals. We are more like frogs in appearance, because unlike other mamals we did not give up our fore-arms, hands and fingers for another set of feet. In this sense I think we are all more inclined towards the reptilian fight or flight id. We could be the ultimate cold-blooded killers in nature, but thanks to our paleomammalian brains we felt social needs long enough for us to develop the rational brain which has redeemed us from a destiny as reptilian bogeymen. But without the rational brain, reptillain tendencies along with mammalian emotions could be our greatest weakness, becomming kinds of shedim, and will lead to our destruction if it is not tempered by our rational mind. It seems to me that nature forced the survival of humans who had developed our rational mind while those more like emotional reptilians became less and less. Now we see the reduction in function of the emotional paleomammalian brain in people with AS syndromes like mine, almost as if the paleomammalian stepping stone has served its purpous.
